Cangxia New Town is located in Taijiang District, Fuzhou City. It used to be a typical old town in Fuzhou. Most of the buildings are wooden structures. The contiguous shanty towns are in disrepair and devastated.
In 2000, Fuzhou listed the renovation of shanty towns as a key project of "doing practical things for the people", and Cangxia shanty towns were included in the first batch of lists for renovation.
In just one year, Cangxia New Town was erected, which was the largest shanty town renovation project in Fuzhou at that time.
Over the years, Fuzhou has continuously deepened the construction of a livable city, completely saying goodbye to the history of "paper fuzhou city".
Huang Xiaohua is an old resident of Cangxia New City. He has lived there for decades and has witnessed the changes here.
