Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 2nd that 1,634 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
The number of new infections per day is 350 more than the previous Tuesday.
A total of 130,546 people have been confirmed to be infected.
Four new deaths were also announced, bringing the death toll to 410.
The number of severely ill patients increased by one from the first day to nine.
