In order to prevent and detect cervical cancer at an early stage, Chofu City, Tokyo, conducted a survey this year targeting women living in the city who will be 23 or 24 years old, mainly causing cervical cancer. Efforts have begun to distribute free kits that can be used to perform simple tests at home to see if you are infected with the causative virus.

The city of Chofu, Tokyo, is making efforts to offer free cervical cancer screenings to women over the age of 20 living in the city, but it is said that some people are hesitant to undergo screenings at medical institutions. That's it.

For this reason, last month, the city began distributing free kits that can be easily tested at home to see if they are infected with a virus called HPV, which is the main cause of cervical cancer.

The target is a woman who lives in the city and turns 23 or 24 this year.

If you apply online, you will receive a test kit at home, and if you take a sample and send it back, you will receive the result by e-mail.

The application for the test kit is due by the 20th of next month, and the city will consider whether to expand the target age range from next fiscal year onwards, based on the application status.

Chofu City says, "We want people to be interested in cervical cancer screening and to have regular screenings."
