7 fierce dogs kill an old American

Local authorities have arrested a man after his ferocious dogs were suspected of causing the death of an elderly man after an unprovoked attack in a residential area.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said Freddie Garcia, 71, was walking to a store around 1 p.m. when she was attacked by seven ferocious pitbulls in Fresno, a city south of Houston (US).

Although Garcia was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston, he died of his injuries, and authorities managed to arrest 4, while three other dogs remained at large, according to a police statement, which called on residents to be careful, given the seriousness of this type of it.

Police initially believed the dogs were strays until an investigation determined that Samuel Cartwright, 47, who lives near Garcia, was the owner of the dogs involved in the attack.

He has been charged with attacking a dog resulting in death, a second-degree felony in Texas.

His bail was set at $100,000, and if convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.

"I can tell that this man did nothing to provoke these animals," a police spokesman said at a press conference prior to Cartwright's arrest.

The attack was gratuitous, meaningless.

The dogs attacked him for no reason.”

The case is still under investigation, according to Complex.
