"I am a veteran and an ordinary taxi driver. Everyone calls me 'brother' affectionately." Gong Yinzhou, the driver of the Haikou Love Car Team, introduced himself to the reporter.

Recently, the reporter walked into the Hainan Provincial People's Hospital and visited the story of Gong Yinzhou and the Haikou Love Caravan.

11 years ago, veteran Gong Yinzhou and like-minded colleagues set up a Haikou caring team. Every Sunday morning, they squatted in Hainan Provincial People's Hospital to provide free pick-up and drop-off services for the "old, weak, sick, disabled and pregnant" patients.

However, when Gong Yinzhou first entered the business 20 years ago, he did not understand the rules and characteristics of the taxi industry, but he was not discouraged.

"In order to get familiar with the route and grasp the source of customers, I bought an old bicycle and drove around the streets of Haikou for half a month." Gong Yinzhou told reporters with a smile that with the hard-working spirit tempered in the army, it was faster. He entered the working state of a taxi driver, "nothing can trouble us".

When talking about the original intention of forming a caring team, Gong Yinzhou recalled his 20-year "older brother" career.

In running a taxi, he has seen old people trembling to the bus stop, disabled people in wheelchairs in the heavy rain, and pregnant women holding their children waiting for the bus at the bus stop. touched.

As a result, the idea of trying to do something for others and the society came into being, and he formed a caring team mainly composed of veterans.

At the beginning of the establishment of the caring team, they were questioned by passengers.

Some passengers thought they were soliciting passengers under the guise of "free pick-up" and ignored them for fear of being deceived.

And some colleagues think that they are just a show, and they won't last long.

In the face of doubts, they gave silently and responded with practical actions.

And this persistence is 11 years.

Lin Yufeng, who was alone on Sunday with his child after seeing the disease, just walked to the door of the hospital, when he heard the news that the caring motorcade would pick him up for free.

"Sometimes a person brings a child to the hospital to see a doctor, and it is very inconvenient to go home in a rainy day."

The actions of the caring team masters, "I am very grateful and very moved."

He says.

Due to livelihood and other pressures, only Gong Yinzhou was left in the first group of team members. "Our old captain Gong Yinzhou has been like a day for ten years, regardless of personal losses, and has been showing love. This is the spirit of our great love and our learning. example".

Wu Quanping, captain of the Haikou Caring Team, said that this spirit of great love has attracted many team members to join the caring team, so that this kind of love can be better relayed, "not only realizing personal value, but also making social contributions".

Today, this caring team, mainly formed by retired soldiers, is recognized by more and more people. Although they have retired, the true nature of the soldiers' dedication to society has not changed.

Calling themselves civilians, they "drive" care into the hearts of patients.

Up to now, the fleet has carried out free pick-up and drop-off for more than 460 weeks, picking up more than 30,000 patients for free, and more than 40 taxis have participated in the fleet.

The fleet currently has 8 vehicles with 10 drivers, 3 of which are veterans.
