The "United Nations peacekeepers" she met on social networks made Ms. Yu think she had found true love and fell in love immediately.

Unexpectedly, what was waiting for her was not the "true son" but a telecommunication network fraud scam.

Recently, the Pudong Public Security Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau successfully dissuaded a telecommunication network fraud case in combination with the summer crackdown and rectification "Hundred Days Action", preventing residents from incurring economic losses of 10,000 yuan.

On the morning of July 24, the Liuzao Police Station of Pudong Public Security Bureau received an alarm from a bank within its jurisdiction saying that Ms. Yu, a customer, was going to remit 50,000 yuan to an unfamiliar account overseas. When the staff asked her the reason for the transfer, Ms. Yu hesitated. I would like to inform that I suspect that I have encountered a telecommunication network fraud.

Police Xu Haojun quickly arrived at the bank branch after receiving the call.

After seeing Ms. Yu, she immediately stepped forward to inquire about the situation.

At this time, Ms. Yu was still deeply involved in a love scam. She was always reluctant to communicate with others, and insisted on urging the staff to transfer money for her.

Upon seeing this, Xu Haojun communicated patiently with Ms. Yu and asked her to explain the situation before seeing if she could transfer money.

Gradually, Ms. Yu also opened the "chat box".

It turned out that she met a "United Nations peacekeeper" calling himself John on a social networking site.

Looking at John's handsome photos and chatting about his experience of traveling around the world, Ms. Yu fell in love with this man with a story for a while.

After that, the two quickly established a romantic relationship.

After chatting happily, John changed the conversation and revealed that he had fought in Syria and had a war "pension" worth hundreds of millions of yuan that needed to be sent to China, but Ms. Yu needed to help advance the postage of 50,000 yuan.

Ms. Yu, who was deeply involved in it, was convinced of John's words, and immediately went to the bank to prepare the remittance according to John's instructions.

After learning about the situation, Xu Haojun clearly informed Ms. Yu that this was a typical telecommunication network fraud. In order to prevent Ms. Yu from making further transfers, he took Ms. Yu back to the police station.

Afterwards, Xu Haojun and his colleague Chen Weilong explained to Ms. Yu in detail the common routines of telecommunication network fraud, as well as fraud cases of impersonating foreign soldiers, and carefully analyzed the various loopholes in this incident.

After an hour of persuasion, Ms. Yu finally came to her senses and realized that she had fallen into a scam. Fortunately, the police helped her avoid losses in time.

Seeing that Ms. Yu was able to get out of the scam, the policeman finally let go of his dangling heart.

In the end, while praising the police, Ms. Yu said that she would also contribute to anti-fraud and be a "propagandist" for the people around her.

The police remind: Online dating is risky, and you need to be cautious when you are tempted. Don’t trust the other party just because you are tempted for a while, especially when it comes to online money transactions, you must be cautious and beware of the trap behind sweet words.
