  Zhou Shidi (1900-1979), a native of Guangdong Music Club (now Qionghai, Hainan).

A first-year student of the Whampoa Military Academy, he joined the Communist Party of China in 1924. He successively participated in the formation and leadership of the Iron Armored Convoy and the Ye Ting Independent Regiment, and participated in the Northern Expedition and the Nanchang Uprising.

During the Long March, he took on the task of defending the Party Central Committee, and later served as the chief of staff of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, and made important contributions in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation.

After the founding of New China, Zhou Shidi served successively as mayor of Chengdu and commander-in-chief of air defense.

He was awarded the rank of general in 1955.

  Since 2003, the family of General Zhou Shidi has maintained a deep friendship with the Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum, and regards Guangzhou as the final destination of the general's relics.

Items donated by family members to the museum, including badges, letters, manuscripts, books, newspapers, tickets, clothing, furniture, daily necessities, etc., of which 90% are items after the founding of New China in 1949, covering the general's work and life in his later years and so on.

  On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum planned the "Founding General Zhou Shidi Series Exhibition", through more than 200 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, as well as a wealth of photos, charts, etc., to show the revolution of General Zhou Shidi. All-round display of career.

The exhibition consists of two series, "'One Soldier'--Zhou Shidi's Revolutionary Career Exhibition" and "Permanent Style--Zhou Shidi's Family Donated Cultural Relics Exhibition".

Among them, the exhibition of Zhou Shidi's revolutionary career is divided into three parts: "Bringing a pen to serve the country", "The general wears golden armor in a hundred battles", and "The general's meritorious deeds", reviewing Zhou Shidi's revolutionary process; donations from Zhou Shidi's family The cultural relics exhibition is divided into three parts: "Heirloom of the Breeze", "Elegant and Elegance" and "Love in Guangzhou", focusing on Zhou Shidi's life, highlighting his simple and frugal quality.

  The exhibition features Yan Xishan's walking stick captured by the People's Liberation Army in the Battle of Taiyuan.

It is reported that in 1928, Yan Xishan led troops into Beijing, and Wang Shizhen, the temporary maintenance chairman of Beijing, presented the cane as a gift to Yan Xishan in the name of the maintenance committee.

When Taiyuan was liberated, Yan Xishan fled in a panic, and the left cane was seized by the People's Liberation Army.

When the troops held a meeting to discuss the disposal of the spoils, because Zhou Shidi was the oldest among the generals present, Xu Xiangqian gave the cane to Zhou Shidi for use.

This walking stick has witnessed the ups and downs of the warlord Yan Xishan, and also witnessed the liberation achievements of Zhou Shidi.

  In addition, Zhou Shidi's sandalwood fan, Zhou Shidi's self-defense silver spoon, Zhou Shidi's diary in the battle, Zhou Shidi's collection of "Dedicated to the Representatives of the Seventh Congress" commemorative book, and the Southwest Military Region presented to Zhou Shidi. Di's vase, Zhou Shidi's double writing desk and many other precious exhibits also appeared at the exhibition site.
