China News Service, Qinhuangdao, July 31 (Li Yang and Chen Xue) In summer, I walked into Liutiaozhuang Village, Shimenzhai Town, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. The roads are spacious and clean, the grass and trees are beautifully trimmed, and the whole village is shady and vibrant. Villagers call it "a village without trash cans".

Located at the foot of the Great Wall, there is a beautiful and comfortable wicker village everywhere. It was once a "late village" in the environment.

In the past, the river ditch in the village was a garbage pond. The garbage was blown by the wind and the sewage was evaporated. The girls from other villages were reluctant to marry in.

Therefore, there is a jingle - "The wicker village chug and chug (dirty, local dialect), the soup is under the water for washing feet."

The imprint of the poor living environment once made the villagers of Wicker Village unable to lift their heads.

In 2015, the two committees of the village decided to change the village environment, focusing on the villagers' courtyards, streets and rivers, and comprehensively clean up the garbage in the entire village.

The garbage in the village has been cleaned up, but the villagers have long been accustomed to the life of throwing garbage casually. How to change the living habits of the villagers has become a difficult problem.

According to Zhang Jianjun, secretary of the party branch of the village, in order to prevent villagers from littering, trash cans were purchased in the village, and they were cleaned and transported in a unified manner every day.

At the same time, the sewage pipelines in the village were laid and decentralized sewage treatment was carried out. According to the geographical location and living conditions, the sewage pipelines of the households in the village were connected together to treat the sewage, which greatly improved the environmental sanitation.

In order to make the villagers change their ideas, the village broadcasts propaganda through loudspeakers every morning.

After more than two years of hard work, the village's old appearance has changed, the roads and rivers in the village are clean, and the villagers' awareness of protecting the environment has gradually formed.

In 2018, the village removed the trash cans and equipped a cleaner to collect the villagers' garbage every day and transport it to the designated garbage station outside the village.

"It's not easy to get used to the fixed-point delivery, but suddenly there are no trash cans in the village, will it go back to the old way?" When they learned that there were no trash cans in the village, many villagers murmured in their hearts.

In order to allay the concerns of the villagers, Willow Village established a volunteer service team for party members.

Party members take the initiative to take the lead in cleaning up garbage inside and outside their own courtyards, and jointly oblige to help special families such as low-income households and five-guarantee households in the village to clean up and remediate sanitation, and regularly clean up various sanitation corners in the village.

In addition, party members and village representatives will also work shifts and cleaners to collect garbage every morning.

Today, there are 38 party members in the voluntary service team of Willow Village.

"We don't need trash cans anymore, our environment is better than before," said Zhao Yurong, a 64-year-old villager.

From incomprehension at the beginning, to taking the initiative to clean up the garbage in front of the door, placing the garbage at designated points, and then taking the initiative to participate in the environmental maintenance of the village, the villagers realized the happiness that a livable life brings to them.

In the village committee, Zhang Jianjun took out a "Village Regulations and People's Agreement", which read: "Establish the 'three guarantees' system in front of the villagers' door, the first is 'sanitation', the second is 'clearance and transportation', and the third is The 'package system'..." Each item is written in great detail, each villager has a copy, and each party member takes the lead in implementing it and accepts the supervision of the villagers.

In order to mobilize the enthusiasm of the villagers, the village also organized activities such as the evaluation of star-rated civilized households and the evaluation of the most beautiful courtyards.

Nowadays, Liutiaozhuang Village is vigorously developing characteristic planting. There are strawberries in winter and spring, blueberries and big cherries in summer, and walnuts and chestnuts in autumn. Article", won the title of "Civilized Village in Hebei Province", "Provincial Forest Village" and "National Rural Governance Demonstration Village".

Zhang Jianjun said that the environment of the village is good, attracting a large number of tourists to pick and play, which has achieved the effect of improving the environment and driving the villagers to become rich.

In the next step, we will build farmhouses, homestays, etc. to attract more tourists, make the village environment more beautiful, and make the villagers' lives more prosperous.
