[Concurrent] "Post-90s" painter Tan Zehong

Hello everyone, I am Tan Zehong from Yingde, Guangdong. I am a full-time hand-painted creator.

[Commentary] "The splendid Forbidden City, the red-walled palace has ten thousand doors." The area of 720,000 square meters and more than 70 large and small palaces are gathered in a huge picture scroll nearly 3 meters long.

In the Palace Museum in Beijing, the green tiles and flying scorpions, the corridors and eaves, and the carved beams and painted columns are all on the paper one by one.

Upon closer inspection, the details of the painting are also clearly visible, making people feel as if they are in the palace walls of the Forbidden City... Previously, this Forbidden City hand-painted became popular on the Internet, and the author "post-90s" Guangdong youth Tan Zehong also became popular.

Because I was on a business trip to Beijing for a job, and after I went to the Forbidden City, I was attracted by its momentum, including various cultural connotations, and then I deliberately collected a lot of materials for it and created this picture of the Forbidden City in Beijing. work.

[Explanation] Born in Guangdong, he began to learn painting at the age of eight. Later, he studied fine arts in college. He first came into contact with and fell in love with pen hand-painted art.

Tan Zehong bluntly said that creating panoramic hand-painted works is time-consuming and labor-intensive, and it is not easy. It not only requires running back and forth on the scene, but also requires a long time to concentrate on measuring the composition, and it takes a lot of hard work to reconcile the light and shade of colors.

At that time, it was my first time to try such a large work. It was a big challenge for me. The biggest difficulty should be its entire perspective, and the choice of color is also a difficult issue.

Because I choose a marker pen to create, and a marker pen is a very difficult tool to grasp. This requires us to practice and apply it for a long time.

[Explanation] At the end of July this year, invited by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Tan Zehong came to the Hong Kong Palace Museum to visit, and created art works themed on the Hong Kong Palace Museum, showing the museum's unique architectural features and precious collections to celebrate the museum's official opening to the public open.

My first impression was the moment I walked in, it was really (feeling) very similar to the Forbidden City in Beijing, including the color and the momentum of walking in.

Then one of the differences may be that the Forbidden City in Beijing is a Chinese culture that has accumulated for so long. It is an imperial city with a deep traditional cultural connotation, and then coming to the Forbidden City (Cultural Museum) in Hong Kong may be a strong sense of technology. One point, the combination of technology and this art is more.

It has some Chinese and foreign products, and the linkage of this culture is stronger.

[Explanation] In Tan Zehong's eyes, this building standing on the shore of Victoria Harbour reflects the beauty of the fusion of ancient and modern, and innovatively interprets the traditional cultural connotation of the Forbidden City from the perspective of Hong Kong.

After the visit, he painted on small objects representing Hong Kong to show his knowledge and understanding of the Palace Museum culture, and immediately started a panoramic painting creation with the theme of the Hong Kong Palace Museum Heritage Museum.

In fact, one of the main purposes of my works is to convey the spirit of a craftsman.

The second I hope is to present the characteristics of this place and this city through this hand-painted form, so that everyone can feel our city with this aesthetic of painting, and can influence more people through one of my own works. It is also my original intention to enrich young people, including some of their spiritual worlds.

[Explanation] Influencing young people through works is the original intention of Tan Zehong's dedication to hand-painting, and it is also the driving force for him to persevere.

Along the streets and alleys, the customs and customs flow quietly under his pen, recording the development and changes of different cities.

As a young man in the Greater Bay Area, he also hopes to promote the beauty of his hometown to more people through the brush in his hand.

I have been to many cities over the years, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. They are all big cities. In fact, in big cities, you can feel the changes in the motherland the most.

Just take Guangzhou as an example. Maybe when I was composing the picture, he had just laid the foundation for this building and had not finished it yet. When I finished this work, the building had already been built and capped, so I could feel it. With this kind of big city, it develops very fast and changes a lot.

The contribution I can make is to promote some urban culture in our (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao) Greater Bay Area, including some features of our city, including food architecture, including tourist attractions, which can be promoted through my own works. It is one of the most capable things that a hand-painter wants to create.
