Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City announced on the 30th that 2,948 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
It was the highest number ever for a Saturday, 740 more than last Saturday.
The cumulative number of infected people in Miyagi Prefecture is 131,389, and the cumulative total of deaths is 212.
