From Monday, there is no longer any legal framework.

This is the end of the emergency measures linked to Covid-19.

However, wearing a mask remains "very strongly recommended" until further notice, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.

Despite the scheduled extinction on August 1 of the exceptional health regimes, the wearing of this emblematic respiratory protection device “remains, for the time being, very strongly recommended within health and medico-social establishments”, underlines the ministry.

Contamination down

A general instruction, in the absence of an obligation, which is justified “because of the fragility of the people who are welcomed there and taking into account the high level of circulation of the virus”.

Nevertheless, “this recommendation could of course be adjusted if the epidemic situation were to continue to improve”, adds the ministry.

The seventh epidemic wave is in clear decline, with less than 62,000 daily contaminations (on average over seven days) against more than 130,000 three weeks ago.

Some hospitals have, however, chosen to maintain the constraint, the lifting of which worries a certain number of caregivers.

AP-HP advance masked

The Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), the largest French hospital group, thus clarified to AFP that “wearing a mask will remain compulsory inside [its] hospital buildings for staff, patients and visitors”, confirming information from the newspaper

Le Parisien

.

The rule will not apply, on the other hand, "not in outdoor spaces" of the AP-HP, which also recalls that "physical distancing must be respected as soon as the mask cannot be worn and the disinfection of the hands by hydroalcoholic friction carried out regularly”.
