At that time, more than 10 winners of Yue Opera Plum Blossom Award and Wenhua Award will perform together, and 45 excellent Yue Opera plays selected and invited from all over China will participate in the exhibition.

　　Yue Opera was born in Zhejiang and is one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritages. It is known as the "Second National Opera" and has a history of more than 110 years.

　　China Yue Opera Art Festival is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and is a national art festival permanently settled in Zhejiang Province.

On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Yue Opera in 2006, Shaoxing, as the hometown of Yue Opera, hosted the first China Yue Opera Art Festival.

At present, the festival has been successfully held for four sessions, effectively enhancing the influence of Chinese Yue Opera art.

　　The 5th China Yue Opera Art Festival includes a series of activities such as opening and closing ceremonies, excellent repertoire performances, high-end dialogues on the development of Yue Opera, exploring the roots and sources of Yue Opera, public performances in the square, and “Hundred Schools and Hundred Operas” entering schools, communities, and rural areas.

The 45 repertoires participating in the excellent repertoire show come from Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Fujian and other places.

Among them, 15 are new and excellent repertoires, 20 are traditional and classic repertoires, and 10 are outstanding repertoires such as the private Yue Opera Troupe.
