The Kalima Reading Club - affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center - organized a number of events in the context of activating its cultural role and enriching the community with a set of activities and initiatives, to encourage community members to read and establish a habit, support reading in Arabic, and shed light on the latest publications in The Center, and the launch of the “Monthly Book” initiative.

The activities included a discussion of the book “The German Experience” in the presence of the author Ali Al-Ahmad, which was translated into German and English, and the two translations were issued by Abu Dhabi for Arabic.

The events also witnessed the launch of Kalima Reading Club, its new membership cards, which include many benefits.

The head of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, Dr. Ali bin Tamim, said: “At the center, we seek to establish reading as a daily habit for all members of society, by developing and launching innovative initiatives aimed at preparing a generation armed with science and knowledge.

The Kalima Reading Club seeks to spread the culture of reading, and we are pleased today to discuss the book (The German Experience), and launch the new Kalima Club membership, in order to encourage more attendance and draw from the cultures and literary works that the club offers to its pioneers and members.”

During the discussion, the author, Ali Al-Ahmad, reviewed the details of the "German experience" from the reality he lived in many German cities, referring to the experience of Germany's rise as a strong European country with the fourth largest economy in the world.

He stressed that the book sheds light on some of the contributions of the German people in building human civilization, and draws the features of life there based on his impressions and observations, reviewing the most important places he visited there and the most important customs and traditions.

The book examines the many reasons for the success of the pioneering German experiment, the most prominent of which is their belief that the value of man derives from his mastery of his work and perseverance despite the challenges he faces.

It is noteworthy that the author Ali Al-Ahmad, an Emirati journalist and diplomat, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from East Washington University and has served as the UAE's ambassador to Germany and France.
