At the shrine in Toyako Town, Iburi, a unique "wind chime" with scallops, which is a local specialty, is displayed for the next month's Tanabata.

Tanabata in Hokkaido is held in August in many areas, and at Abuta Shrine in Toyako Town, decorations are made every year at this time.

On the stairs in the precincts, local specialty scallop shells and a total of 600 hanging "wind chimes" were displayed, and when the wind blew and the shells collided with each other, a cool sound was heard.

On the 27th, 32 local nursery school children visited the shrine and attached a strip of paper with their wishes, such as "I want to be a firefighter" and "I hope you can live well with a smile", on the shell with the nursery teacher. ..

The decorated kindergarten boy said, "I was happy to hear the sound of the wind chimes."

Kazue Nonomura of Abuta Shrine said, "It's been hot days, but I want you to feel cool at the shrine, calm your mind, and nurture your kindness."

"Wind chimes" made from scallop shells will be displayed at Abuta Shrine until the 18th of next month.
