Since its establishment in 2008, it has helped more than 2,000 girls change their fate and enter the university.
Today, some of these girls have become doctors, police officers, teachers... and have taken up different jobs to give back to the society.
She is like a beam of hope, illuminating the dreams of girls in the mountains.
In the play, Zhang Guimei has been on the education front for more than 40 years, devoted herself to the main battlefield of education and poverty alleviation in mountainous areas, established a children's home, promoted the creation of the first all-free girls' high school in the country, and made more than 2,000 poor girls in mountainous areas realize their dreams of university. The main line of the story tells that she is dedicated and dedicated to her work, dragging her body to work for a long time, and in the race against time and the battle against the disease, she fulfills the promise of "as long as there is still a breath, I will stand on the podium", holding up The hopes and dreams of children in poverty-stricken mountainous areas "knowledge changes destiny".
The first contact between Yunnan Provincial Theater and Teacher Guimei was in 2009.
In Yunnan Province's "Heroic Model Awards Gala", the theatre created and performed Wang Baoshe as the screenwriter and director, telling the short play "Grateful Heart" by Mr. Guimei. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Guimei was also produced by the Yunnan Provincial Drama Theatre. It is played by Li Hongmei, the vice chairman, secretary general and national first-class actor of the National Association of China.
Twelve years later, in June 2021, the drama "Mr. Guimei" will premiere in Kunming, Yunnan.
Since then, the play has been continuously polished and improved in performances, making the characters in the play more delicate and moving.
The solid script, superb interpretation, and vivid details all moved the audience who watched the play.

Director Chang Hao said that through the drama "Teacher Gui Mei", he wanted to bring Mr. Gui Mei's real deeds to more people, so that everyone can truly feel that the role model is around us.
It is reported that the play tour will pass through 9 cities including Haimen, Ma'anshan, Fuzhou, Cixi, Yichun, Haikou, Chongqing, Zhuzhou, Xiaogan, etc. After this round of tour, the play will complete a total of 42 performances.
