Tochigi Prefecture and Utsunomiya City announced on the 27th that a total of 2803 people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
The number of newly infected people announced in Tochigi prefecture per day exceeded 2,297 on the 26th, the highest ever.
A total of 118,202 people have been confirmed infected in the prefecture.
The prefecture also announced that three new patients had died, bringing the total number of deaths in the prefecture to 291.
