The weather has been scorching hot since they entered the Fufu, so they had to pick them before the high temperature period to maintain the moisture and freshness of the lotus roots.
The lotus root farmers put on "one-piece pants", carefully groped in the water and locked the position of the lotus root. They had to hold the high-pressure water gun in one hand, remove the lotus leaf in the other hand, and grab the lotus root under the mud along the lotus stem. The mud around the lotus root was washed away, and the lotus root was pulled out one by one from the water.
After picking, the lotus root farmers will put a lotus root into a basket prepared in advance, and then use a boat to pull it to the roadside.
Buyers from Ganzhou and surrounding counties and cities will arrive at the receiving location on time every day. After being weighed and loaded by the buyers, they can be sold to major markets and supermarkets immediately, so that people can eat fresh lotus roots with confidence.
In recent years, Qinglong Town, Dayu County has adopted the model of "base + cooperative + farmers", planting 310 acres of lotus roots, with an annual output value of more than 1.5 million yuan, driving 80 villagers to employment, and achieving an average annual income increase of more than 7,000 yuan.
