On July 25, over 100 main cable strands were erected on the left side of the Lingdingyang Bridge in the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Super Project located at the mouth of the Pearl River, half of the total erection has been completed.

The main cable is the main force-bearing member of the suspension bridge, and is called the "spine" of the suspension bridge.

The single main cable of Lingdingyang Bridge consists of 199 long-length cable strands, each of which is composed of 127-wire, 6 mm diameter high-strength steel wire of 2060 MPa independently developed in China.

In order to better build the "backbone" of the "super project" in the Bay Area, the technical team of the S05 bid project of Poly Changshen and Middle Passage has rationally formulated a management system for the erection of cables and strands. Speed up the process.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Super Project Deep-Central Corridor is a super sea-crossing cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater communication", with a total length of 24 kilometers.

Among them, Lingdingyang Bridge is a key control project of the project, with a main span of 1,666 meters. After completion, it will become the world's largest span mid-sea steel box girder suspension bridge.

At present, the island-tunnel project and bridge project of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel are progressing in parallel.

In terms of artificial islands, the east artificial island has been fully transferred to the island's tunnel structure construction, and the west artificial island is undergoing construction of the main structure of the ramp tunnel on the island.

A total of 28 pipe sections have been deposited in the immersed tunnel.

In terms of bridge engineering, the Zhongshan Bridge has been closed, and the construction of the road surface and ancillary facilities is underway.

The towing of the cable strands of the Lingdingyang Bridge is still in progress, and the erection of all the main cable strands is expected to be completed in September this year.

The project is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2024.
