[Commentary] Even on weekends, the 85-year-old Wu Xiuman will walk through the water gate alley in front of his house in the early morning, and open the door of the "Ancient Customs" Thousand-year-old "Ancient Customs" of Fujian Quanzhou Bosi Literature and History Memorial Room, after a simple cleaning, quietly Waiting for visitors.

For more than 20 years, Wu Xiuman has been spontaneously guarding this place, and every brick and tile has touched her heartstrings.

On July 24, the reporter walked into the Memorial Room of the Ships Division in Quanzhou City to learn about the indissoluble bond between the old man Wu Xiuman and the Ships Division.

[Same period] Quanzhou citizen Wu Xiuman came to clean all day (every day) in the morning and closed the door in the evening.

That's how I got over it, and I'm just sticking to it.

On July 25, 2021, the application for the World Heritage List was successful, so I would be happy.

[Commentary] Wu Xiuman is an adopted child and has lived in his adoptive parents' house in God's Palace Lane near Watermen Lane since he was 1 year old.

The adoptive parents doted on Wu Xiuman very much and depended on her for almost everything.

After growing up, through studying and asking local elders, Wu Xiuman learned that this place used to be the "Ancient Customs".

[Same period] Wu Xiuman, a citizen of Quanzhou, I came back from Indonesia with my mother and father.

But at that time it wasn't by plane, it was by boat.

When I was old enough to study, I ran to the one above that belonged to us. One of the two pavilions is called Qingfen Pavilion, which is just above (north), so the scenery of this place is very good, and it feels very interesting.

[Explanation] The lively Wu Xiuman mobilized the neighbors and the elderly around, and established the "Shi Bosi Site Cultural Relics Protection Group" around 2002, obliged to protect and publicize the "ancient customs" Quanzhou Ship Division, and walked around in various ways to prepare for the restoration of narcissus The ruins of the palace, the construction of the Memorial Room of the Municipal Ship Division.

In 2010, the Quanzhou Bosi Literature and History Memorial Room, built by Wu Xiuman and others, was officially opened to the public.

At that time, the memorial room was relatively simple, with foam boards made up of old photos on the wall, as well as the introduction of the history and functions of the Shibo Division.

[Concurrent] Citizens of Quanzhou

Wu Xiuman and we had no money at that time, so we tried to figure out what to do if we had no money.

If you don't have money, you should mobilize donations to the masses and caring people.

Some donated one hundred, some donated two hundred, some one thousand, and some ten thousand.

Once it's built, we'll organize a pavilion, a simple pavilion, and then give it to foreign countries (friends) to visit.

[Explanation] On July 25, 2021, the project "Quanzhou: The World Marine Commerce and Trade Center of Song and Yuan China" was selected into the "World Heritage List" and became the 56th World Heritage Site in China.

Wu Xiuman told reporters that the ancient city originally had 7 city gates and 7 water gates, and the water gate water gate was here; the ancient Tibetans would place merchant ships at the port, and then change boats along the waterway to the city shipping department to pay taxes and clear customs.

Over the past 400 years, Quanzhou Shipping Division has witnessed the prosperity of Quanzhou's overseas transportation and port trade in the Song and Yuan Dynasties.

[Same period] If you don't maintain Wu Xiuman, a citizen of Quanzhou, and (the site) is gone, the next generation will still not know what is in you.

This is a thousand-year-old customs and trade.

This is very important to say, so let's persevere. I said that I will always protect it, until I finally can't (can't walk), then forget it.

[Explanation] Today's cultural relics protection team has established a rotating duty system.

And Wu Xiuman still insists on going to the Shibosi Literature and History Memorial Room every day, rain or shine.

The two notebooks placed in the exhibition hall have turned yellow, and the records of the exhibition are densely written on them.

Tourists from all over the world wrote down their impressions of Shibosi and Quanzhou in different languages.
