After a long absence.. Lebanon crowned a new beauty queen

The young woman, Yasmina Zaitoun, was crowned the beauty queen of Lebanon last night in the first beauty queen selection ceremony since 2018.

Lebanon was unable to hold the annual competition in the past three years due to political instability, protests, then the Corona virus pandemic, the massive explosion in the port of Beirut, and the financial collapse that the World Bank described as one of the worst crises since the Industrial Revolution.

Former Miss Lebanon Maya Raidy said after the event: "After these three years that I was Miss Lebanon, I finally returned the crown. I say finally because it is time to see Lebanon shine again and I am confident that after tonight there will be changes, we will have changes Positive. I wish the new queen all the best and it is time for Lebanon to stand on its own two feet again."

Under the slogan (We miss celebrating the beauty of Lebanon), 17 contestants competed to win the title.

Miss Lebanon 2022 Yasmina Zaitoun is 20 years old and studies journalism.

She described the event as a "message of hope".

She said, "Miss Lebanon is a message of hope so I hope everyone will work hard. I am very happy to be here tonight."

Yasmina will represent Lebanon in the upcoming Miss World and Miss Universe competitions.

The competition was held this year in the capital, Beirut, which witnessed great destruction due to the explosion of the port two years ago.
