This section of the Ming Great Wall is located in Shenchi, a small city outside the Great Wall, attracting the attention of many photographers. 67-year-old Xiao Wei is one of them.

He believes that it is very meaningful to record the Great Wall with light and shadow, and he hopes to call on more people to protect the Great Wall in this way.

  At 4 a.m. on the 24th, Xiao Wei suddenly had an inspiration, so he set off from his home and drove for an hour to the Great Wall at Wild Boarkou for filming.

"The Great Wall has an indescribable attraction. I often do this, whenever and wherever I have inspiration, I immediately shoot. Different seasons, weather, and even mood changes, the Great Wall I photographed is different. ."

  In 2014, Xiao Wei, who fell in love with photography, chose to photograph the Great Wall as the beginning of his photography career.

For this purpose, he bought a new camera specially.

In the past 8 years, Xiao Wei often climbed the hillsides of Shenchi to photograph the Great Wall of Four Seasons.

Up to now, he has taken nearly 30,000 photos, of which more than 300 have participated in the Pingyao International Photography Exhibition.

  "The Great Wall of Shenchi is very representative, and it is a unique scenery on the Loess Plateau. In order to take good pictures of them, I later added a drone, which can take pictures of the Great Wall that I can't usually see." Xiao Wei said, while enjoying the magnificent Great Wall At the same time, he also witnessed the changes of the Great Wall.

  The military defense engineering system of this section of the Ming Great Wall is very complete, including city walls, Guanbao, trenches, beacon towers, etc. At that time, there were hundreds of troops stationed at the border guarding the border.

Its construction techniques are diverse and unique in style, including stone masonry, brick masonry, earth ramming, and various shapes.

The Yezhukou Great Wall is the most well-preserved rammed-earth Great Wall in Shanxi Province, the Yezhukou Pass is the best-preserved stepped stone Great Wall, and the Yezhukou Fort is also very well preserved.

  In recent years, combined with the resources of the Great Wall, Shenchi is promoting the construction of the Great Wall National Park, building rural cultural tourism routes, planning the rural tourism industry, driving the development of cultural tourism and promoting rural revitalization.

"Hundreds of years ago, it witnessed the integration of ethnic groups. Now, this section of the Great Wall will be rejuvenated and 'experience' local changes." Xiao Wei said with emotion.

  At the same time, more and more photography enthusiasts joined the Shenchi County Photographers Association.

As the chairman of the association, Xiao Wei said that on the way to protect the Great Wall through the lens, he will welcome more fellow travelers.

  Shenchi, where the Great Wall of Yezhukou is located, is located in the hinterland of the “Three Outer Passes” of the ancient important passes of Piantou Pass, Ningwu Pass and Yanmen Pass. Agro-pastoral staggered area.
