The 18th edition of the Liwa Date Festival reached its final stage yesterday, after nine days of authentic heritage activities in the city of Liwa in the Al Dhafra region in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Management Committee, which organizes the festival, celebrated the "partners of success" from sponsors, supporters and participants.

For his part, Director of "Liwa Dates" Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, said that the festival succeeded over nine days in organizing 23 main competitions with prizes worth about eight million and 300 thousand dirhams, noting that the popular market included 132 shops, and 67 pavilions for sponsoring, supporting and participating parties. In addition to 24 craftswomen's corners and wet shops.

He explained that the market included a number of competitions, in addition to the Children's Village, which presented programs and events for children and daily prizes.

The Liwa Date Festival crowned the winners of the "Al Fard" competition in the open and farms rounds in Al Ain region.

The results of the Mazaina Rutb Al-Fard competition - the open round, resulted in the victory of Khamsha Saif Butti Al Mazrouei, from Al Ghuwait - Liwa, in the first place, and Mubarak Salem Saeed Al Mansouri from K - Liwa came in second place, and Hamad Saif Hamad Al Mazrouei from Adhej - Liwa won the third place.

Fatima Al Mansouri, Director of the Zayed Center for Studies and Research of the Club, said that the Emirates Heritage Club has been a continuous presence in the Liwa Date Festival, as part of its keenness to participate in heritage events and festivals within the country, in order to highlight and introduce the heritage of the Emirates, while attending cultural and heritage events of various nationalities. .

The club's pavilion at the festival witnessed a remarkable turnout, and the two workshops of Al-Tali and Sef Al-Khous attracted visitors, especially tourists.
