Bull gored.. 3 dead in Spain

Three people, including a French tourist, were killed after they were gored while watching bull shooting events in Valencia, southeast Spain.

Two of the three victims, aged 50 and 56, died after being severely injured last Tuesday, as a result of gored bulls in the suburb of Valencia, where bull release events are organized annually as part of celebrations called "Boss El Carrier".

The third, a 60-year-old French tourist, was hospitalized with a severe injury on 8 July after being gored in a village near Alicante.

He died last Monday, according to a spokesman for relief organizations.

Bull shooting is a widespread tradition in Spain, especially in the summer, when several regions celebrate the feasts of their intercessors, with casualties in the country, despite the adoption of protocols that would avoid such incidents.

The most famous bull shooting takes place annually as part of the San Fermin festivities in Pamplona in the north of the country, as hundreds try to get as close as possible to six bulls during an 850-meter race through the cobblestone streets of the city.

This year, 5 people were gored during the festivities, which ended on July 14, but their injuries were minor.
