“The Archive” receives various publications from “Foreign Affairs”

The National Archives and Library announced that it had received a large number of various books in Arabic and other languages from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which the Ministry obtained from the embassies of the United Arab Emirates abroad.
The National Archives and Library received about 130 large boxes, some of which were made available in the Emirates Library, and others were deposited in its warehouses for the National Library to be established in the near future.
Hamad Al-Humairi, Director of Research and Knowledge Services Department at the National Archives and Library, said, "These collections of books are an enrichment for the Emirates Library and the National Library, and an increase in the diversity of their sources and references in order to be distinguished by their holdings, and their role in meeting the needs of their patrons."
He expressed his thanks to the embassies of the UAE, which took the initiative to preserve the books in the archives and the national library, and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which supervised the evaluation and sorting of books, and submitted them to the archive.
He stressed that the move is an important sign of confidence in the National Archives and Library, which is keen on making the National Library a national reference and a cultural and information center that preserves the heritage of the UAE, and highlights its scientific and civilizational development, similar to the global libraries that incubate human heritage.
Al-Humairi appealed to national authorities and personalities to deposit their collections of books in the archives and the National Library, which will be keen on all the collections he receives and will put them in the appropriate place in the Emirates Library at the present time or in the National Library in the future to be available within the reach of readers and researchers.
The books received by the Archives and the National Library from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation were characterized by a variety of topics, between history and national identity, arts of literature and poetry, Islamic jurisprudence, translation and economics, and important topics related to the UAE.
