A British man was acquitted of participating in the theft of gum worth 30 thousand pounds!

Keon Sanderson, 18, was one of three who attacked a food truck while the driver was sleeping while it was stopping on a British motorway.

The gang seized seven out of 19 boxes of chewing gum after cutting off the side of the car in what police described as a "sophisticated" operation on May 4 this year.

Everyone fled the scene after another driver spotted them and called the police, leading to a chase along the highway to Cheltenham, only to end up taking the wrong road before leaving their chasing truck and running away.

But two of them were later arrested, teen Sanderson and co-defendant Ellis Beneke, 20, a former soccer player described by the press as a once-promising robbery after his career hopes were dashed by drugs and debt.

The 18-year-old admitted to stealing, possessing cannabis and not taking a breath test or providing a sample of blood or urine for analysis, and was given an 18-month suspended prison sentence. including merchandise.”

In turn, the young man defended himself, according to "Sky News", noting that he was not aware of the planning, and that he agreed to walk with the gang in the hope of canceling debts owed by him, without having the right to benefit from the sale of stolen gum.

His being an infantry soldier helped the defense attorney in his acquittal, especially since the suspicions that he was the escape driver turned out to be untrue.

The teenager was sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid work, paid £200 court costs and was banned from driving for 18 months for refusing to take a breathalyzer test or give a sample.

Beneke, from Leeds, was given a suspended sentence of 18 months and 140 hours of unpaid work for theft and cannabis use, after he also admitted participating in the theft to settle a debt. .
