The fourth in a series of unique enlightenment videos produced by the Tochigi Prefectural Police has been released in an attempt to increase the number of cars that pause at pedestrian crossings without traffic lights.

In Tochigi Prefecture, a survey of the percentage of cars that stopped temporarily when pedestrians were about to cross on a pedestrian crossing without traffic lights showed that it was 0.9%, the worst in Japan four years ago.

In response to this, the Tochigi Prefectural Police and the Traffic Safety Association continue to produce and publish enlightenment videos such as "Take off! Tochigi Prefecture that does not stop", and the fourth in the series has been released.

In the completed video, a man who has appeared in all three of the past works is urgently calling out to a car that does not pause at the pedestrian crossing, "Why don't you stop now?"

In Tochigi Prefecture, the percentage of cars that were temporarily stopped in last year's (R3) survey exceeded the national average, improving to 31%, the 22nd in the country, and the police want to continue calling.

The Transportation Planning Division of the Prefectural Police Headquarters said, "Even though it exceeds the national average, nearly 70% of the cars have not stopped yet. Watching the video, I was reminded that the pedestrian crossing is pedestrian priority, and it is the best in Japan with the citizens of the prefecture. I want to aim for Tochigi Prefecture, which will stop. "

The completed video can be seen on the Tochigi Prefectural Police Headquarters website.
