The journalist and documentary filmmaker Tom Alandh is rewarded with a medal of the eighth size for his "multifaceted narrative about people and human destinies in our modern Swedish history and present", the Ministry of Culture writes in a press release.

Alandh has been a long-time employee of SVT and has made several acclaimed documentaries, including the series about Martina who has Down syndrome and "The party leader who stepped out of the cold", about the Social Democrats' former party leader Håkan Juholt.

Several of Alandh's documentaries are available on SVT Play.

- Alandh has the ability to make the little person a big person, says Jeanette Gustafsdotter (S) to Kulturnyheterna.

The ceramist Lisa Larson is awarded a medal of the twelfth size for "an art that has both renewed and enriched the Swedish arts and crafts".

Lisa Larson is well known for her characteristic figurines of animals and humans in rounded shapes.

- She has done a unique job to highlight the importance of arts and crafts in Sweden, says Jeanette Gustafsdotter.

The medals will be awarded in August.
