The Minister of Culture and Youth, Chairperson of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, visited the office of the country's permanent delegation to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in the French capital, Paris, in the presence of the country's permanent representative to UNESCO, Salem Khaled Al Qasimi.

The reopening of the newly renovated office of the country's permanent delegation to UNESCO coincided with the 50th anniversary of the UAE's accession in 1972 to the organization as a member state, as the UAE continues its efforts to promote the importance of arts and culture education, as well as to enhance cultural diversity through the various forums that Organized by UNESCO and its member states.

During the visit, Noura Al Kaabi listened to explanations about the programs and projects undertaken by the office, and its future plans through which it seeks to enhance the country's leading position as a main supporter of the various strategic efforts led by the organization.

During the visit, I inspected the facilities and halls of the office, which includes an exhibition of Emirati artists, including Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, Afra Al Dhaheri, Mohammed Kazem, Nasser Nasrallah, and other Emirati artists.

Noura Al Kaabi said: "The UAE and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have historical ties in many fields, and the state continues to support the organization through extensive and tangible efforts to promote dialogue and peace, build bridges of convergence between cultures and peoples, and preserve human heritage, both tangible and intangible. As well as the joint initiatives between the two parties, which aim to support creativity and innovation, science, arts and culture, and provide an incubating environment for creativity worldwide.”

She stressed that the UAE has provided support for many important initiatives undertaken by the organization, including the "Revival of Mosul" project and the development programs that emerged from it, such as the reconstruction of Al-Nouri Mosque and its Al-Hadba Minaret and the two churches of Al-Tahira and Al-Sa'a, in addition to many important projects, from which countries have benefited. Many around the world, which confirms the presence and position of the state and its leadership in supporting development projects and preserving human heritage and its gains.

For his part, the Permanent Representative of the State to UNESCO, Salem Khalid Al Qasimi, said that the UAE is keen to strengthen the various ties it has with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at various levels, to ensure its leadership as a primary supporter of the development projects undertaken by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
