【Live】Zheng Mingjia, President of Guangzhou Taiwan Youth Home

(I came to Guangzhou at the time) There are only Lines 1 and 3, two subway lines, and now 19 subway lines are open to traffic, and more subways will be opened to traffic every year in the future.

This is an explosive growth.

I am a witness and a participant, so I can profoundly say that Guangzhou, Guangdong is my second hometown.

[Commentary] Zheng Mingjia was a little excited on the stage. As the president of the Guangzhou Taiwan Youth Home, he is also a senior who has worked hard in the mainland for many years. Facing dozens of slightly immature and vigorous Taiwanese students off the stage, he is quite feel.

[Explanation] On July 20, the 2022 Guangzhou Internship Experience for Taiwan University Students was officially launched in Nansha District, Guangzhou.

The internship experience activity attracted more than 150 Taiwanese college students from more than 30 universities including Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, University of Macau, and Taiwan Chiao Tung University to sign up to participate.

Zhang Wanting from Yangming Jiaotong University in Taiwan just completed the epidemic prevention quarantine earlier this month. She came to Guangzhou for the first time across the Taiwan Strait from New Taipei. This student gave more meaning to this internship trip.

Everyone lives in the stratosphere of their own network, so for me, I feel that I hope I can see with my own eyes what the world looks like when I was young, just from my own perspective. It's why I want to come to the mainland.

[Explanation] In fact, Zhang Wanting is only a sophomore student, so the pressure to find an internship and a job is actually not that great, especially if she chooses to come to the mainland when the epidemic has not subsided, the cost involved in the process is not small, but Young students have their own clear plans.

My parents also encouraged me to come to the mainland, but they would think, you can come, but why do you have to choose to come this year? For me, I think four years of college, your time in each year is not the same. Just like the year you left the society, because you have a lot of school resources, peers, teachers, and the tolerance of society towards you, you can have more room for trial and error.

So I think I came a year earlier, and the inspiration I got earlier I brought back to Taiwan, whether it was the production of my own graduation project or the communication between me and my classmates, the earlier one year was more inspiration. In fact, honestly In comparison, the 21 days of quarantine (at the time), I didn't think it was a big sacrifice.

[Explanation] According to reports, in accordance with the principle of "respecting the wishes of students, adapting to the needs of the unit, and striving for the right person and position", the internship activity has opened 1,000 high-quality positions to Taiwanese college students.

Among them, business and financial positions account for more than 70%, in addition to legal, public service, design and other positions.

In addition to the internship, the organizer also prepared an "immersive" internship experience for everyone. A series of activities such as "Lingnan Cultural Tour" and visits to leading high-tech enterprises will enrich the students' life in Guangzhou in the next two months.

I also hope that they can truly understand Guangzhou and then integrate into Guangzhou. I also hope that they can bring back the story of Guangzhou and give more Taiwanese youths in Taiwan a real understanding.

In fact, the current Guangzhou, including the development of our motherland, is completely different from what it used to be.
