Egypt .. Minister confirms that men are harassed more than women

The Egyptian Minister of Solidarity, Nevin Al-Kabbaj, revealed that more men are subject to online harassment and blackmail than women.

The minister pointed out that one out of 10 people is targeted for an attack, crime, harassment or extortion, and that 71% of men are exposed to such crimes, and 70% of women are exposed as well.

According to the "Cairo 24" website, Neven Al-Kabbaj said that human rights have become an important issue that governments, civil society and relevant organizations are jointly guaranteeing, adding that artificial intelligence technology has invaded private life, whether we like it or not.

During the Conference on Strengthening the Protection of the Right to Privacy in the Context of Artificial Intelligence Challenges, Al-Kabbaj explained that personal data is now available to all parties and entities and is presented to advertising and hacking companies.

She stressed the need for artificial intelligence governance, as data and figures indicated the spread of cybercrime, and that there are millions of dollars in losses as a result of cybercrime.

She noted that cybercrime has increased with the spread of the Corona virus, explaining that President Sisi launched the national strategy for human rights, and the right to protect privacy and private life among its goals.

Kabbaj continued: From this standpoint, Egyptian legislation has established laws to protect private life and criminalized its violation, indicating that Egypt has taken the lead in confronting cyber attacks, as Egypt ranked 23 in the world among 194 countries.

She pointed out that the Ministry of Solidarity guaranteed the private rights of citizens, stressing that at the end of the year;

All of the ministry's services will be automated.

The minister concluded, saying: The ministry adopts policies that ensure the protection of citizens' data and is committed not to disclose it, and the employee's penalty in case of disclosing citizens' data is up to dismissal from work.
