The artist chose the image of Master Jianzhen standing on the bow of the boat when crossing the sea, riding the wind and waves with firm belief.

Jianzhen is thin and kind, with an indomitable expression engraved on his weathered face.

He is dressed in a large monk's robe, his left arm hangs down naturally; his right hand is slightly raised, and the wide sleeves are full of sea breeze, like the mighty Tang style, full of Chinese culture, reflecting Jianzhen's character and style.

  In the video speech, Wu Weishan said that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations, Jianzhen, as a representative symbol of Sino-Japanese exchanges, has a statue permanently erected in Ueno Gift Park, which not only makes people admire his lofty image, Feeling his noble spiritual character also makes people look back to the beautiful history of cultural exchanges between China and Japan since the Han and Tang dynasties.
