The Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) announced yesterday the graduation of 23 young women from the "Pioneers" program, which was organized under the umbrella of the company's "Women for Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy" platform.

The program focuses on empowering young women between the ages of 25 and 35 and preparing them to contribute to leading the transition towards sustainability within their communities and throughout their careers.

With the completion of its fourth year, the "Pioneers" program has graduated more than 70 young women from 17 nationalities, including 23 young women from this year's session who completed more than 20 hours of workshops focused on developing knowledge and skills, and more than 100 hours of face-to-face interviews to present Guidance and counseling.

The “Pioneers of Women” program falls under the “Women for Sustainability, Environment and Renewable Energy” platform that was launched during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in 2015, with the aim of motivating women and girls to contribute to a more effective and equal role in the transformation process within the energy sector, in line with Contribute to supporting the strategic initiative of the UAE to achieve climate neutrality and the United Nations sustainable development goals.

Dr. Lamia Nawaf Fawaz, Executive Director of Corporate Identity and Strategic Initiatives Department at Masdar, stressed the importance of the role of the Pioneers Program, which provides guidance and counseling programs for talented girls and hone their skills, thus contributing to empowering future generations to become leaders in the field of sustainability within their communities, workplaces and in various fields. around the world, which is an urgent need to support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”
