Why this book?

  • Because the author reconciled me with the world of music.

    It's a theme that I usually avoid.

I made an exception for this author whom I love very much.

And I really don't regret it, the music and the fame are there.

But I thought it was approached differently, a bit more from the fan side this time.

    A really interesting sight.

  • Because for me, CS Quill is the queen of New Romance.

Discovered by chance, with a remarkable book.

Since then, I haven't missed an outing.

I'm really a fan of his pen, even more in the latter.

She knows how to bring out the emotions of her heroes as much as to talk to us about important things, like making us laugh and giving us great twists...

  • Because the heroine is the kind that we can only love:

she is really very natural and very sincere.

I laughed with her, I cried with her and I hoped with her.

She did not have an easy childhood.

But it was her repartee that made me succumb to the charm of Elvis (just the first name of this girl is out of the ordinary).

She had a difficult childhood, which made her a fighter, she never gives up despite the difficulties.

She inspires us with courage and hope, while making us laugh a lot.

  • Because the secondary characters are not only figurative.

They are well integrated into the story, are as irresistible as the heroes, each have a very different character, but form a big family.

  • Because if you want to laugh, this is the book for you.

Elvis's lines are really hilarious, especially when she's stressed, she doesn't lack repartee.

    Each funnier than the other.

So when Rita, her little inner voice gets involved, you can only laugh.

And laughing, it feels good, I really had a great time, laughed several times.

In a period where everything is not always simple, this kind of reading puts balm in the heart and in the soul (oh yeah).

  • Because laughing is good, but having important topics

in a romance is even better.

The heroine has type 1 diabetes. The author shows us what this means in her life and I found it very interesting to discuss it.

She also talks to us about social networks, necessarily with a community manager, shows us their advantages: the positive with, for example, the promotion of the group, but also the harmful impact that a single photo posted on the networks can have.

The essentials in 2 minutes

The plot.

Elvis will find himself community manager of the group she has loved for ten years, the Unfool.

A disaster for her who did not want to meet them in person, she will have to follow them everywhere.

She will quickly realize that the reality is very far from her fantasies and what she imagined.

Characters.

Elvis, a little crazy, clumsy, without filter who does not let himself be done.

Especially by Oxton, the leader of the group, rather grumpy and brittle, not very pleasant to associate with.

The other members of the group and the friends of Elvis, form a universe rich in outstanding characters.

Places.

The United States, everywhere, from Los Angeles to Hollywood via Las Vegas.

A tour that allows us to travel through this emblematic country.

The time.

The story is happening today, moreover, the ubiquitous presence of social networks reminds us of this throughout history.

The author.

CS Quill is a discovered author on the Fyctia platform.

She has since been an essential author of French New Romance.

This book was read with

a bit of trepidation at first with this theme that I don't usually enjoy.

But the smiles quickly took over, then bursts of laughter, until certain passages broke my heart.
