The Arab Reading Challenge, student Aseel Mahmoud Mosleh, (from Yasuf Iskaka Secondary School for Girls in Salfit) was crowned the champion of its sixth session at the level of the State of Palestine, among 181,185 students from 1,730 schools who participated in the largest reading demonstration of its kind in the world in Arabic, and developed skills quality in reading.

Bent Al-Azwar Elementary Higher School for Girls, within the educational zone in Ramallah, won the title of Distinguished School, followed by Al-Atara Girls School in Qabatiya, and Beit Lid Secondary Girls School in Tulkarm in third place.

Meanwhile, the title of Distinguished Supervisor went to Hosni Abdullah Rabay’ah, from Qabatiya Educational District, among 3,460 supervisors in Palestine who participated in empowering students participating in the challenge and following them up at the level of the State of Palestine.

The winners of the Arab Reading Challenge, the Distinguished School and the Distinguished Supervisor at the State of Palestine were honored during a closing ceremony in Ramallah, in the presence of the Palestinian Minister of Education, Dr. Marwan Al-Awartani, and a number of officials and educators in charge of the initiative.

The sixth session of the Arab Reading Challenge recorded the participation of more than 22.27 million students from 44 countries, becoming the largest session in the history of the challenge in terms of the number of participants.

Dr. Marwan Al-Awartani stressed: “Reading is an essential component of identity, personality and future aspirations at the individual level, and a main pillar for building knowledge societies and economies in the future.” From the ministry, local authorities and society as a whole, and reflects a great demand for culture, science and literature among the younger generations, given that learning and knowledge attainment are a supreme and essential value in Palestinian society.

He said: "The technology options provided by the challengers facilitated access to a variety of reading materials, and enabled students and young people to use their digital skills to enrich the content available in Arabic on various topics and disciplines."

For her part, Sarah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Office of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, confirmed that the Arab Reading Challenge, in its sixth session, has become a reference experience in how to organize attractive reading events capable of attracting more than 22 million participants from around the world, thanks to its adoption of options Wide, digital and organizational, enabling students to access books and various reading materials through modern technology.

She noted the cooperation of all parties and institutions to ensure the successful organization of a new session of the Arab Reading Challenge, to reach the largest number of participants, praising the size of the Palestinian students' turnout to participate, which reflects the status of Palestine and its students in the Arab cultural and knowledge scene.

She congratulated the participants in the Arab Reading Challenge in the State of Palestine, saying: “The pioneers of reading today are the builders of future societies.
