The Arab Reading Challenge was crowned;

The largest reading competition of its kind in the Arabic language, student Zainab Hassan Abbas (fifth grade at Baha Al-Wareth School) is the champion of its sixth session at the level of Iraq in his first participation in the competition, during a closing ceremony organized in Baghdad.

The sixth session is the largest in terms of the number of participants since the launch of the challenge, as it witnessed the participation of more than 22.27 million students from 44 countries.

The Iraqi Minister of Education, Ali Hamid Mukhlif, said that "reading is the basis for the knowledge society that Iraq aspires to establish," noting that the builders of this desired society that achieves comprehensive development and empowers the human being are the young and the rising generations eager to acquire knowledge and science, and actively contribute to its production. .

For her part, Director of the Office of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Sarah Al Nuaimi, considered that “the number of countries participating in the challenge to 44 confirms that the younger generations in the Arab region and the world are thirsty for reading more thoughtful and adequate content presented in the Arabic language, and this is what the challenge seeks to Securing it.”

She added: "Iraq has always been a destination for writers, and its libraries and roads, such as Al-Mutanabbi's road, have always been a picnic for readers and enthusiasts of culture, and Iraq's participation in the challenge is a qualitative addition."
