“According to the regional forestry dispatch services, 96 forest fires on an area of 5415 hectares have been extinguished in Russia over the past day,” RIA Novosti reports.
According to Avialesookhrana, there are 118 forest fires in the country on an area of 15,719 hectares.
Earlier, the head of Rosleskhoz, Ivan Sovetnikov, said that this summer the greatest fire risk is expected in Yakutia, as well as in the regions of the Far East and Siberia.
