The cursed "Hitler's syringe" is causing an uproar and widespread controversy in Egypt... and the Ministry of Health warns of it

During the past hours, social networking sites in Egypt buzzed with an analgesic injection called "Hitler's injection", which is provided in pharmacies for the purpose of treatment. Pharmacies in Port Said Governorate.

The Director-General of Health Affairs in the Egyptian Port Said Governorate, Ahmed Hassan Abu Hashem, denied the authenticity of the death of the young man, and confirmed in statements to the Egyptian newspaper, "The Seventh Day", that no bodies were ever transferred from inside a pharmacy in the Al-Manakh neighborhood in the governorate.

He added that the body that was found in the early hours of last Friday morning was of an unidentified person, and it was found on the street near the "Usha" where he lives.

Abu Hashem continued that as soon as the body of the unknown person was found, in the presence of the men of the Port Said Security Directorate and the arrival of the ambulance men, one of the people stated that the deceased had received an injection in a pharmacy several days ago, and that the incident is being investigated by the Public Prosecution and the competent authorities, and a forensic team is summoned to determine cause of his death.

In a related context, the spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, explained yesterday, Saturday, that “Hitler’s injection” is a combination of antibiotics with vitamins that are used without prescriptions.

He added, in a telephone interview with the "Cairo Talk" program, which is broadcast on the Egyptian "Cairo and Al-Nas" satellite channel, of the danger of this injection, indicating that "any injection may lead to a sharp drop in blood circulation, cardiac arrest, and death."

He pointed out that "there are wrong health practices and taking treatments that are supposed to be taken only with a prescription, and that any medication, especially antibiotics, must be dosed."

The spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, stressed that "antibiotics may not be dispensed without a prescription, and we are working clearly to activate the non-dispensing of medicines only through a prescription."

For her part, Maha Ghanem, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University, warned against the syringe circulating under the name "Hitler's syringe", noting that it may cause "rapid death for those with chronic diseases in particular."

Ghanem explained, in statements to "Al-Masry Al-Youm" newspaper, that "Hitler's injection" consisted of a mixture of an antibiotic, cortisone, and an analgesic.

She pointed out that it destroys the immune system, "because it is considered an incomplete treatment, and the type of painkiller inside the syringe is dangerous" that may lead to the death of a number of patients, given that its composition varies from one injection to another.

Ghanem had indicated that those at risk of injection are patients with liver and kidneys, stomach ulcers, allergies and pregnant women, explaining that it is frequently used in popular and rural areas.

She said, "The cursed syringe is spreading in the popular areas and the countryside with various names, including the cold syringe, or its three injections in one, or the installation injection."
