$ 5 million in compensation for an American flight attendant who was fired because of a word

In 2017, the American flight attendant, Charlene Carter, wrote posts on social networks expressing her position on the issue of abortion, which is causing controversy in the United States.

And it was from the airline "Southwest", which has low prices, but the flight attendant was dismissed from her job.

But Charlene did not stand idly by over her livelihood, she says, and filed a compensation case against the company.

And the American "Fox News" network reported that a Texas jury decided to award Charlene a financial compensation of $ 5 million.

The flight attendant was not only at odds with the company, as the root of the dispute was due to her position towards the head of her union as well, so the compensation included the company and the union.

Commenting on the ruling, Charlene told "Fox News", "It is a day of victory for freedom of expression and religious belief. The flight attendants must have a voice and no one should take revenge on them for engaging in controversy with their union."

According to "Sky News Arabia", the former host criticized the attendance of members of the union, especially its president, for a pro-abortion rally in Washington in 2017.

Later, the company summoned the employee about her Facebook posts, where she showed her screenshots of the posts she had written about her refusal to have an abortion, and asked her questions such as: Why did you post this.

The company said the employee's comments "harassed" union officials, and after a week fired her.
