The town of Arsal was shaken... the death of 8 members of one family in a tragic accident in Lebanon
A terrible traffic accident shook the border town of Arsal in the eastern Lebanon mountain range on Saturday evening in the northern Bekaa governorate, killing 8 people from one family.
In the details, according to the "Sky News Arabia" website, the father, mother, their four children (two sons and two daughters), the daughter's husband and a truck driver were killed, after the truck loaded with rocks ran over the family car.
The traffic control page on "Twitter" said that a terrible collision occurred between a truck and a car in the Wadi Atta Arsal locality, resulting in the death of 7 members of one family.
Civil Defense sources said, "During the rescue operation, our personnel used hydraulic equipment to be able to retrieve the bodies, and in parallel they worked to put out a fire that broke out in the truck."
The mayor of Arsal, Basil Al-Hujairi, said that "the truck driver died later in the Geitaoui Hospital for burns in Beirut."
He revealed that the driver is from the town of Arsal and the family's neighbor and relative, Deeb Ghaddah.
Al-Hujairi explained the course of the accident, saying: "The accident occurred in the afternoon on an internal road between the houses. It is known that at this time of the day this road is crowded with the people of the town returning from picking the fruits of the orchards."
Al-Hujairi added: "The truck driver lost control of it, and it was loaded with a large amount of rocks, which they brought from the tops of the Arsali inventory from an area known as the quarry."
The local official added, "A number of cars were also damaged in the accident," noting that "it is difficult to identify the bodies due to the fire."
