On July 15, Chen Qinxiu, a resident of the Jiao Village Police Station of the Huangshan Branch of the Public Security Bureau of Huangshan City, Anhui Province, found a baby monkey at the Wubeiling Tunnel construction site where he worked.
Chen Qinxiu said that the young monkey was sluggish at the time and was worried that it would be hurt.
Chen Qinxiu sent the baby monkey to Jiaocun police station for help from the police.
After inspection by professionals, the monkey is a national second-class protected animal, Huangshan cynomolgus monkey. It is a newborn cub. It is weak and has no ability to survive independently in the wild.
At present, the young monkey has been sent to the Wannan National Wildlife Rescue Center in Anhui Province for rescue.
