Ishikawa Prefecture announced on the 15th that 704 new coronavirus infections have been confirmed.
In addition, analysis of infected specimens conducted by the 15th revealed that four people were infected with the Omicron strain "BA.5".
This is the first time that infection with "BA.5" has been confirmed in the prefecture.
So far, 65,023 people have been confirmed to be infected in Ishikawa prefecture, of which 199 have died.
