A driver turned her car in the middle of a street in Düsseldorf, allegedly causing a fatal motorcycle accident - and then fled from the scene of the accident.

A 60-year-old motorcyclist fell during the evasive maneuver and crashed into the metal protection bar of a tree, the police said on Thursday.

He died a little later in the hospital.

No help brought

The 40-year-old was therefore on the road "Auf'm Hennekamp" early Thursday morning and turned around just behind an underpass, which is illegal.

The motorcyclist met her at the time.

He tried to dodge, but fell and was thrown towards the tree.

The police said that according to witnesses, the woman stopped after the accident, went to the injured person, but then drove away - with reference to her work.

She is said to have neither dialed the emergency number nor called for help in any other way.

As Focus Online reported with reference to a report in the daily newspaper Rheinische Post, the driver also took a photo of the scene of the accident before she drove on.

She was finally found at her place of work.

Her driver's license and car were confiscated.

There are allegations of traffic accident escape and failure to provide assistance.
