The death of “Chef Omar” .. a unique journey in defense of the rights of children of determination

The Moroccan child, Omar Arshan, known in the media as "Chef Omar", died after suffering from illness, leaving behind content in which he has always defended children of determination and their right to engage in recreational activities like the rest of their peers.

The news of Omar Arshan's death spread very quickly on social media platforms, and everyone expressed their deep regret and sadness over this painful event.

The office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Morocco wrote, “With great sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the death of the young child, Al-Shaf Omar, an advocate for child rights issues.


Omar, who had a movement and speech disability and died at the age of 16, was known for providing cooking recipes on social media platforms.

Despite his difficult circumstances, the child Omar was able to move forward with his education and now speaks three languages: Arabic, French and English.

Omar published many blogs to raise awareness of bullying, especially from people of determination, and in 2017, the Moroccan child was chosen as the “Web” character in the “Morco Web Awards” competition.
