Oreibi indicated that a proposal was made for new articles to criminalize acts of witchcraft, sorcery and quackery to confront this phenomenon, and that the Egyptian law did not provide for the criminalization of witchcraft and sorcery directly and did not address it from near or far, but it is punishable as a crime of fraud according to the text of Article 336 of the Egyptian Penal Code And a distinction must be made between those who perform the legal ruqyah without obtaining a financial reward, provided that their actions do not exceed the legal ruqyah, and the magicians, charlatans and charlatans who harm people and harm their safety and their families.

The member of the House of Representatives explained that religious scholars agreed that learning and teaching magic and practicing it is forbidden by Sharia, which required preparing the presented project and toughening the penalties if these crimes were committed in order to deter and limit the perpetrators of them.

Oreibi mentioned that the explanatory note included a draft law amending some provisions of the amended Penal Code No. 58 of 1937: "Due to the many crimes of fraud and appropriation of others' money and theft of their money fraudulently or by taking false names, or fictitious qualities in society, which is what prompted me to work My legislative duty is to amend the text of Article 336 of Penalties and to increase the penalty in order to deter the perpetrators of this crime and limit this phenomenon.”
