On Thursday, July 14, the series "Lucy" was released on the Premier video service.

The key roles in the film were played by Danila Kozlovsky, Daria Savelyeva, Maxim Vitorgan, Kristina Asmus, Jan Tsapnik and other actors.

The series consists of eight episodes lasting 30 minutes.

The script for the film was written by Pyotr Vnukov and Sergey Panasenkov, who previously worked together on the series “Peace!

Friendship!

Gum!".

The director was Ivan I. Tverdovsky, known mainly for festival drama films - "Conference" (2020), "Zoology" (2016), "Correction Class" (2014).

In the serial format, Tverdovsky tries himself for the first time.

The film "Lucy" tells about how difficult it is to be a genius.

In the center of the plot is Senya (Danila Kozlovsky), a programmer who created Lucy's smart speaker.

The process of developing a brilliant invention remains behind the scenes, viewers see the finished product from the first episode, which only needs to be finalized.

The speaker has not only pronounced mental abilities, but also a very high EQ - emotional intelligence.

She can speak to her creator even when activation mode is not enabled.

This fact is not technically explained by the authors of the series, but the audience understands that Lucy is reacting to the emotional state of her “master”.

Senya, who does not find understanding among relatives and friends, sees an outlet in Lucy - she is the most humane and understanding among all his acquaintances, accepts a man as he is.

The column becomes for Senya something like a psychologist who literally reads his inner state, and a friend who gives practical advice.

And since Senya is the creator of Lucy, she will never leave him, no matter what happens.

Danila Kozlovsky, who often plays charismatic and proactive characters ("Legend No. 17", "It all started in Harbin", "Crew"), in "Luce" does not look very organic at first glance - it seems that Kozlovsky's acting talent has nowhere to turn around.

However, this impression is especially strong only at first.

Then the hero changes and after some events becomes infected with the drive.

At home, Senya is a loving father and an exemplary husband.

He does not tolerate violence in any form.

Even when he gets involved in a conflict, he tries to resolve it through dialogue: “The truth is on my side,” Senya says to the offender.

As the story progresses, the character changes drastically.

For example, filmmakers who portrayed Senya as an exemplary family man suddenly throw him into the arms of another woman, without explaining it in any way.

Senya, the parent, also turned out to be rather strange and contradictory, like his wife Lena (Daria Savelyeva).

The series opens with a scene in which Varya, a girl of eight years old (Taisiya Bityukova), walks along the school playground with an ax in her hands.

She reacts aggressively to the teacher's calls not to play with him, everything ends in the director's office with a psychologist.

At the same time, the girl's parents do not see anything wrong with the fact that the child walks around the school with knives.

Home improvement also shows little evidence of the presence of children in the family.

It is possible that the two girls Senya and Lena are accustomed to order from an early age and do not scatter toys around the apartment, but still it seems that the children in the series serve only as a background invented to maintain the image of their parents.

All these contradictory moments make Senya a very caricatured hero: his appearance and behavior are more reminiscent of an insecure and spineless teenager than an accomplished genius inventor and father of a family.

The series well shows the modern problem of parenthood - when they try to move away from the models of raising their own parents and become a support and support for their children, sometimes inadequately evaluating their actions.

The desire to protect children from external criticism is expectedly due to the fact that Senya himself did not have this support.

Senya's father, played by Jan Tsapnik, a sports coach, does not participate in his son's life in any way, and when Senya tells him about his development, Tsapnik's hero abruptly interrupts him and deliberately shows his indifference.

In general, “Lucy” is a rather dynamic series, but sometimes events develop so rapidly that it becomes difficult to catch the moments of mental anguish of the protagonist.
