This "House of Flying Daggers", which is gathered by masters, is directed by Yang Liping as the editor-in-chief and art director, and the internationally renowned visual artist and Academy Award winner Ye Jintian is the art and costume designer.
Artist Liu Beili served as the scissors installation artist and creative consultant for the play, Tian Qinxin, president and first-class director of the National Theatre of China, served as the theater consultant, and Qiu Jirong, a successor of the Peking Opera School of Qiu, participated in the choreography, presenting the ultimate oriental aesthetics.
"House of Flying Daggers" recreates the epic story of the rivalry between Chu and Han in Chinese history more than 2,000 years ago, and since its debut in China in 2015, the dance has been hailed as an aesthetic example of a visual feast.
No matter in the selection of actors, the design of stage art, or the use of soundtracks, it has reached a new height in Yang Liping's stage art creation.
Some commentators said that "House of Flying Daggers", which presents the ultimate oriental aesthetics, is rooted in traditional Chinese culture, and at the same time it is full of strong experimental colors.
"House of Flying Daggers" re-interprets Yoshimitsu Kataha in the long history through the form of dance theater, and achieves an interesting "drinking" with the current audience.
Yang Liping designed the two sides of "darkness" and "light" for Han Xin, one black and one white, one yin and one yang, just as good and evil in human nature always go hand in hand.
On the stage, the dance between the two Han Xin, black and white, fighting against each other is also a kind of entanglement and game between good and evil in human nature.
The only female character in the play, Yu Ji, chose a male to play the opposite role. The dancer appeared on the stage naked and alone, bringing the ultimate charm of a woman to a duet dance with Xiang Yu.
