Twitter sues Elon Musk to pay him to buy the social network

Twitter has filed a lawsuit against billionaire Elon Musk, to pay him to complete the purchase of the social network, according to documents submitted to a court in the US state of Delaware.

"Twitter initiated this lawsuit to prevent Musk from further infringement, compel Musk to comply with his legal obligations, and force completion of the merger after several conditions that were not met," the document says.

Musk had previously notified Twitter that he would withdraw from the deal to buy the social network.

According to the leaked document, Musk is exercising his right to "terminate the merger agreement and withdraw from the transaction envisaged under it."

According to Musk, the social network has reduced the number of fake accounts and spam, saying they number only 5% of users.
