As the rapid spread of the new coronavirus continues, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has requested medical institutions to increase the number of beds for the new coronavirus in Tokyo from the current 5,000 beds to another 2,000 beds.

While the rapid spread of infection continued in Tokyo, the number of confirmed infections exceeded 10,000 on the 12th to 11,511, and the usage rate of beds for the new corona exceeded 40% to 41.1%.

In response to this situation, Governor Koike of Tokyo announced at a meeting of the National Governors' Association held online on the afternoon of the 12th that he requested medical institutions to increase the number of beds for the new corona in Tokyo.

Specifically, it means increasing 2000 beds from the current 5000 beds to about 7000 beds.

In addition, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will increase the number of accommodation facilities to prevent domestic infections by 3,000 to approximately 12,000, and will raise the status of support centers for home care recipients to the peak level of the 6th wave. It means that it was pulled up.

Governor Koike said at the meeting, "We will secure a thorough medical care provision system in preparation for the spread of infection. It is important to take the initiative."
