A café in Munich, not far from the English Garden.

A chat over coffee, cake and soda, maybe a short walk afterwards.

This is how this interview with Luis Vorbach, actor, and Egon Werler, musician and actor, both 16 years old, should actually go.

It turned out differently;

Once again it became clear that the pandemic is not over yet.

On a Monday afternoon, the two young people are sitting at home and looking into the laptop camera - Vorbach in the Allgäu, Werler in Berlin.

The atmosphere is relaxed, you quickly end up with the "du".

The film "Alfons Zitterbacke: Endlich Klassenfahrt" has just come to the cinemas, Vorbach plays the leading role, Werler an important supporting role.

Actually, the three of us are now sitting together in a café.

But now we are talking about Zoom because you, Egon, recently had Corona.

How are you?

Egon: I've been negative again for two days, fortunately.

Now I'm doing great, during the Corona phase the mood was of course less good.

Luckily I was only sick for two days, but I was still positive for eight days.

Life is slowly starting up again for me.

In your jobs - as a musician, Egon, and as an actor, Luis - Corona is quite a disaster, isn't it?

Egon: I'm currently on tour with Silbermond as support.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel two big performances.

That was very stupid: when you have plans and just want to be active and then you are forced to take a break.

Luis: With Egon it was really inappropriate.

I also had Corona once - but I didn't notice it, only found out later through an antigen test.

Corona was always a big topic during filming.

Everyone was very meticulous to ensure that nobody got infected.

And we tested each other regularly at school.

There is a lot of talk about how much the young generation has suffered from Corona.

How does all this weigh on you?

Egon: I have the feeling that a few years are being stolen from you.

For example: I've been part of the young ensemble at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin since I was six, and I sing, dance and act there.

Our show was canceled for a whole year.

And not only that: everything felt like it was cancelled!

You weren't really allowed to meet up anymore, you weren't allowed to be out late at night, and at the very beginning you were terrified of going to see your grandma.

You could infect them, and who knows what will happen then.

Luis: I would have actually flown to South Korea in 2020 to give a speech at a film festival there.

Of course that wasn't possible, and it didn't even work on the catch-up date in 2021.

This is a pity.

At the beginning of Corona everything was so unusual.

Some things then became so normal, as if it had never been otherwise.

For example, wearing a mask.

What depresses me: I have friends who were away during the Corona period.

When they weren't at school, they were at home.

And when homeschooling was popular, they were stuck at home for two months.

How did you personally get through this time?

Egon: I got through quite well because I was always in contact with a lot of other people.

When Corona started, I applied to the casting show “The Voice Kids”, and then I won it last year.

And then came the shooting of the film - and again I was surrounded by so many people.

Hearing how artists and creative people are doing is bad.

No concerts, no performances, of course that pulls you down.

But luckily it didn't bother me that much.
