The rainy season is mainly characterized by continuous rain.

However, in recent years, the characteristics of Meiyu have gradually become blurred, and "no rain" in Meiyu has become the norm.

　　According to the meteorological department, the atypical characteristics of the plum rainy season this year are obvious. During the plum rain period, the weather is sunny and hot, and the rainfall is obviously less, mainly convective precipitation.

　　Although the rainy season in Jiangsu this year is relatively low, there are differences between the north and the south, and actively "contributes" to flood control and drought relief.

The average plum rainfall in the area south of the Huaihe River was 81.8 mm, 68% less than normal, reducing the flood situation in the south; the average rainfall in the Huaibei area was 208.5 mm, 43% more than the same period of the previous year, and the early drought was relieved.

　　The rainy season in Jiangnan, which was supposed to be cool and humid, was extremely hot this year due to the scorching sun.

According to statistics from the Jiangsu Meteorological Department, the province's average temperature during the rainy season this year was 29.7°C, 3.5°C higher than the same period in previous years and the third highest value since 1961; high temperature days in most parts of the province range from 5 to 13 days.
